Venison field harvesters wanted
Koallah Farm Abattoirs has recently achieved accreditation for the processing of field harvested Venison for human consumption. As a result, Koallah Farm is now seeking venison field harvesters and farmers interested in supplying Venison.
Victoria’s first mobile field depot
Koallah Farm has now registered Victoria’s First mobile depot for the storage of field harvested game for human consumption. This allows the depot to be conveniently located for easy access when delivering harvested animals. The result is less time traveling and more time hunting. We recently featured on the front of Stock & Land. Please click on the cover to read that story.Harvester payments
Koallah Farm will pay per kg for all Field Harvested Venison with head removed and delivered to Koallah Farm’s Field Depot. All animals delivered must comply with the field dressing and traceability regulations as outlined below. Field Dressing – Skin, lungs, liver, heart and kidneys to remain attached to the carcass. Heads to be removed prior to delivery to Koallah Farm field depot. Traceability – the carcass must be tagged with Property Identification Code (PIC), Field Harvester Approval Number, Harvest Date, and Carcass Body number. Koallah Farm will provide tags to registered harvesters.Consignment Declaration & Delivery
All consignments to the field depot, must be accompanied with a completed Game Meat Harvest Declaration. Animals harvested between sunrise and sunset, must be delivered to Koallah Farm’s depot within 2 hours of being harvested. Animals harvested between sunset and sunrise, must be delivered to depot within two hours of sunrise.Human consumption buyback and value added options
As a result of the fact that all field harvested animals processed at Koallah Farm are fit for human consumption, any related product can be on sold for commercial purposes. Koallah Farm offers Harvesters the option to buyback selected products which they may wish to market directly to consumers. This is a great way to increase the value of harvested animals. Speak to us about our buyback and value adding options to maximise the value of your hunt. If you are a Registered Game Harvester, a farmer with a Venison control problem or you would like to find out more information about supplying Game to Koallah Farm, please contact us on 03 5594 5222 or email us at info@koallahfarm.com.auPlease click on the poster below to download a pdf version.

Koallah Farm in the state’s south west is offering a 50% discount on all meat and free delivery for all residents living in the City of Moreland.
The fully integrated, on-farm meat producer from outside Camperdown has been delivering its pasture-raised, free range meat to Melbournians for more than a decade.
Its decision follows the Greens-led Moreland City Council vote to remove meat from its catering on Mondays and a similar Animal Justice Party push for the State Parliament to go vegan on Mondays.
Managing Director Steven Castle said both campaigns were ridiculous and were typical of city-centric decision makers abandoning farmers, their families and the regional economy.
“We just can’t afford for this sort of narrow-mindedness to become any more systemic than it already is within governments,” he said.
“It’s laughable that these public servants can sit in their climate-controlled, inner-city offices mounting an argument that eating less meat is the way to reduce climate change.
Mr Castle said he wanted to reach out to Moreland residents to give them an opportunity to show that they support the families of all Victorian farmers. “We are where food comes from – it’s pretty simple. If the publicly elected decision makers of this state continue to make life harder for farmers, then more and more food will have to be trucked in and that sure certainly isn’t great for the planet,” he said. “Why not just respect everyone’s individual right to choose what they put in their bodies – without this unnecessary posturing. “Thankfully we live, work and create jobs in a part of the state that recognises how important farmers are and where we get the public support of local members like Bev McArthur who moved quickly to counter this nonsense with her own idea.” Mrs McArthur who lives near Camperdown has proposed a whole week of meat themed days at Parliament to support farmers. Moreland residents with the postcode 3043, 3046, 3055, 3057, 3060, 3044, 3052, 3056, 3058 or 3068 who place online orders via www.koallahfarm.com.au will have a 50 per cent discount applied to their first order. All other people wishing to show their support can use the discount code MORELANDMEATMADNESS and receive 10 per cent of their orders this month.“We support traditional farming methods and the more difficult they make it for producers like us, the more food that will need to be produced through factory farming and mass production – this having an even greater impact on the environment.”
- T&C: Offer extends to all orders less than $250 in retail value.
