Winter Sunrises
What a way to start the season. While these cold winter mornings make it hard to crawl out of bed, it sure is worth it for frost photos like this.

Sustainable Farming
A big factor in farming sustainably is to enable lots of space for the animals to roam and to not over occupy the land.
We are firm believers in the ethos of conscious farming for the conscious consumer. The life quality of the animals we hand-rear and lovingly farm is extremely important to us. It’s through this passion and ethical farming that we can deliver paddock-to-plate freshness and fairness that you will feel confident in (and very indulged by).

Nutritional Benefits of Poultry
There’s no denying that chicken is one of the world's most popular meats. It’s delicious, easy to cook and has a never-ending list of health benefits such as:
- Protein: which is essential to the building and repairing of muscle mass
- Selenium: a trace mineral that’s necessary for proper immune function and fertility
- Chicken is also rich in B vitamins like niacin and vitamins B6 and B12, which play central roles in energy production & brain health
- Phosphorus: An anti-inflammatory that helps reduce muscle pain and filter out bad toxins
So… are you having chicken tonight?
Why go Against the Grain?
Cows are natural-born herbivores. So it wouldn’t it make sense to allow them to feed off luscious green pastures? Over the years, farmers have found that feeding their cows grain is a faster and more cost-effective approach. But they have not taken into consideration the effect on the animals health.
Grain-fed animals experience inflammation which then requires the treatment of antibiotics and other unnecessary intervention. They are also placed in feedlots where they are confined to stalls and fed on grains such as wheat, corn, soy, barley, and sorghum.
At Castle Estate we go against the Grain!
