Koallah Farm Abattoir is seeking a boning room leading hand to join its growing team.
Reporting to the Plant Manager you will play a lead role in the customised boning and packing of multiple species including, veal, lamb, pork, goat and others.
Applicants should have extensive boning room experience, particularly in small stock and be capable of working in a small team. The successful applicant will be highly motivated to provide outstanding customer service and have high-quality knife skills well as a deep understanding of boning room processes and standards.

We are currently seeking a suitably qualified Meat Inspector with industry experience to work in our on-farm abattoir and meat processing facility at Koallah Farm.
Between 25 and 40 hours of work is available for the right applicant. Remuneration will be negotiated with the applicant depending on experience.
Responsibilities, not limited to;
- Certificate 3 in Meat Processing (Meat Safety) or higher.
- Competent in knife sharpening and maintaining sharp knife
- Experience in working in the meat processing industry
- Be able to work within a team or individual environment with reporting protocols
- Always act in accordance with the Australian Standard
- Perform all official duties as an Inspector in accordance with all legislative requirements
- Perform all work in accordance with all safe working procedure and practices
- Perform Ante Mortem inspection
- Perform Post Morten inspection
- Computer Skills (Microsoft Outlook, Excel & Word)
- Valid Drivers Licence and own transport

Most work is completed in the afternoon and into the evening with the occasional weekend work required. The successful applicants will work within our small cleaning team and report to our plant manager and QA Manager.

- Adhere to all cleaning processes and procedures to industry standards
- Cleaning and sanitizing of commercial food grade Boning rooms
- Cleaning and sanitizing of commercial slaughtering/processing rooms
- Cleaning and sanitizing of food grade equipment and machinery
- Assemble and disassemble all meat equipment and machinery
- Cleaning chillers / cool rooms / rails / walls
- Use of hot water power hoses, Chemical foaming of floors, walls and ceilings
- Cleaning staff amenities
- Cleaning of production clothing and other laundry washing
- Rubbish removal
- All other General Cleaning Duties
- Previous experience in industrial or intensive cleaning
- Previous experience with cleaning chemical awareness
- Prepared to work afternoon/evening shifts
- Be organized, have attention to detail to provide a high standard of service
- Be confident and self-motivated
- Have strong ethics and integrity, be honest, reliable and dedicated

An exciting job opportunity exists for a motivated person to join the small and passionate team at Koallah Farm & Simply Free Range.
We are seeking an experienced person for a casual position as a meat delivery driver. The position will be based at Koallah Farm near Camperdown.
The successful applicant will present well, have a positive can-do attitude, be able to work unsupervised and show an understanding for boutique, artisan, paddock-to-plate food production.
A current Light Rigid (or higher) Australian Drivers Licence is essential and the successful completion of VCE is preferred.
Experience in loading and unloading meat carcasses is preferred, but not essential.
Early morning starts are mandatory and it is estimated that the successful applicant will complete between 30-40 hours of work each week - Monday to Friday.
Remuneration will be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Good personal hygiene will be critical, as will the ability to physically lift hanging meat and boxed product.

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the role will require you to undertake standard maintenance and repairs, from maintenance request instructions, as well as undertaking special projects as required.
Our fully accredited abattoir (Lic: L00133) operates Monday to Friday alongside our team of butchers and packers in our boning rooms.We are looking for someone with mechanical maintenance experience, including welding, fabrication and ideally electrical qualifications.
Skills and Experience:
- Welding experience
- Provide breakdown, preventative and reactive maintenance to plant and equipment
- Diagnose and repair of machinery & plant in a timely manner
- Assist with the installation & relocation of associated equipment or machinery in plant
- Periodically inspect and test electrical systems and recommend fixes or replacement strategies appropriate to the situation, avoiding costly breakdowns.
- The ability to operate autonomously and with minimal supervision as well as in a team environment
- Deliver on preventative and scheduled maintenance
- Attend break downs if required
- Improve the reliability of plant equipment
- Comply to occupational health and safety rules and regulations
- Valid drivers licence
- A Grade Electrician (preferred)
