Why go Against the Grain?
Cows are natural-born herbivores. So it wouldn’t it make sense to allow them to feed off luscious green pastures? Over the years, farmers have found that feeding their cows grain is a faster and more cost-effective approach. But they have not taken into consideration the effect on the animals health.
Grain-fed animals experience inflammation which then requires the treatment of antibiotics and other unnecessary intervention. They are also placed in feedlots where they are confined to stalls and fed on grains such as wheat, corn, soy, barley, and sorghum.
